Anchor Bar

Back in the post-World War II era, 710 St. Joseph Street was home to the Anchor Bar -- kind of an odd theme choice considering Rapid City is about as far from the ocean as you can get in North America. But in those days, downtown Rapid City had a lot of bars. On a Saturday night you could walk around downtown and hear music and laughter just about everywhere you turned.)

In more recent times, it has been home to a steakhouse, a high-end restaurant and a nightclub. The current occupant of the building has taken a completely different tack: It's a personal fitness studio.
